Angular.js is an open-source Javascript MVC (Model-View-Controller) framework developed by Google. It gives Javascript developers a highly structured approach to developing rich browser-based applications which leads to very high productivity.

If you are using Angular.js, or considering it, this cookbook provides easy to follow recipes for issues you are likely to face. Each recipe solves a specific problem and provides a solution and in-depth discussion of it.

Recipes with Angularjs eBook Frederik Dietz

I've tried getting through several introductory books on Angular, but I find they take too long to get to the point. This books does exactly that. You'll find many workable samples for immediate use in your projects. That is what's best about it. The reader doesn't have to wait until the middle of the book to be somewhat useful with the framework.

Perhaps it's best to use this book as a reference when needed. Reading it from beginning to end may not be as cogent since most of us will forget the code implementations by the end of the book. I have often gone back to chapters I read months before just to remind myself. Fortunately, this book has its own Web site and GitHub page for copying and paste code samples as needed.

I've read some criticisms suggesting this book should not be used by those that are new to Angular. I would disagree. Each recipe is quite practical for getting up and running. The section on directives is especially insightful as it gives boilerplate code for many real world scenarios. I learned much more about directives here than in any other Angular book.

As far as electronic versions go, the EPUB version retains color in the code samples which I find quite useful. The Kindle version is readable but challenging when it comes to lengthy code samples.

I have to take off one star for the external dependencies you often come across. The reader will find references to Express, Ruby on Rails, and Angular UI. These are all fine and dandy, but I feel like they add unnecessary weight to the content. Who knows if those code samples are even valid with later versions of their software. There's also no mention of common Web servers such as Apache in sections that discuss routing.

Recipes with Angularjs eBook Frederik Dietz Reviews

It's difficult to understand because of no output view.
If insert running result screen it will more easy to read
Easy to follow and great examples. A book that shows you exactly how to make the code function properly with easy to follow instructions.
I enjoyed and recommend this book for anyone that is already familiar with Angujar.is as well as those just getting started. It has real world solutions to real world problems. I like its consistent format that clearly shows how to use the technologies. Great examples of nesting directives and some unique approaches I hadn't thought of. These types of enlightenments are what inspire me to always keep learning and stay current. Great book!
I understand the "recipes" format, but I was looking for something that was more of a Step-by-Step intro. Experienced AngularJS programmers will likely enjoy this more than newbies, given the ad hoc nature of the demonstrations.
This is by far the best resource I've found for AngularJS. Typically when I purchase a programming book, I expect to see items which aren't already covered in online tutorials or are described/taught better than in online tutorials, and this book meets that expectation. Also, this is a short read and doesn't get wordy like some other Angular or MEAN books that are 400+ pages.
This is an awesome book. It is laid out very well, and extremely easy to understand. The author genuinely has a talent for explaining things in a way that make them easy to comprehend. I was extremely confused after reading the API for Angular and this book has made it much easier to understand the API. I highly recommend this book for anyone looking to get their feet wet with Angularjs.
Pretty good. It does a decent job of walking through specific use cases. As you might expect, it doesn't always have the recipe you're looking for. I found the selection of use cases to be pretty good, but frequently just not what I needed. I don't want to fault the author too much for this, because it is impossible to predict everything a reader might want to do. But, I feel like the breadth of topic could have been a little better considered.
